As is Nintendo video game tradition, another Switch exclusive has leaked online ahead of its official release date. This time it’s The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which has seen unofficial gameplay hit the internet, sparking takedowns from Nintendo and spoiler concern from fans.
Reports emerged last week that Echoes of Wisdom, due September 26, had leaked online and a ROM was being shared on private networks. Now, Nintendo of America is actively taking down YouTube videos with copyright claims.
Redditor 43eyes spotted a video on YouTube showing someone booting up Echoes of Wisdom on Switch and then moving about the game world for a handful of seconds, with the footage apparently first appearing on 4chan. The YouTube video is now unavailable, replaced with the message: "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Nintendo of America Inc."
At this stage, it doesn’t look like significant Echoes of Wisdom gameplay has leaked, but it’s probably worth bracing yourself for spoilers over the next 10 days.
Echoes of Wisdom sees Zelda, not Link, in the starring role, battling enemies and solving puzzles via a cool echoes mechanic. Check out IGN’s Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom preview for more.
