As part of its Fall Sale Event, Samsung is offering the new for 2024 32" Samsung Odyssey G80SD 4K OLED gaming monitor for only $999.99, a $300 discount from its $1300 MSRP. That's not all, though. Samsung is also throwing in a 27" Odyssey G3 gaming monitor at no extra cost. That makes it a better deal than buying it from any of the 3rd party retailers like Amazon or Best Buy. This is one of the very few 32" 4K OLED monitors on the market.
32" Samsung Odyssey G80SD 4K OLED Gaming Monitor
The Odyssey G80SD was first unveiled during CES 2024. This is a 32" display with a true 4K (3840x2160) resolution and a quantum dot OLED panel. Quantum dot (QLED) OLED panels are brighter and offer richer colors than traditional OLED panels without losing the incredible black levels and near instantaneous response time that OLEDs are known for. The G80SD features a 0.03ms response time and boast a high 240Hz refresh rate, a figure most first gen OLED monitors and all OLED TVs can't match. It also boasts a factory calibrated 99% DCI-P3 color range and HDR10 support. Connectivity wise, it has two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 port, all of which are capable of 4K at up to 240Hz. That means you can also connect a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X console and play games in 4K at up to 120fps. To combat OLED burn-in, Samsung has integrated a heatpipe cooling system to transfer heat away from the panel itself and dissipate it more effectively, as well as tried-and-true features like Pixel Shift and Pixel Refresh. Unlike most other OLED gaming "monitors", the G80SD has smart apps built in so it can double up as a regular TV as well as a gaming monitor. The monitor includes a 3 year warranty from Samsung.
The Alienware AW3225QF Is a Curved Alternative
Dell is currently taking $200 off the 2024 Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K QD OLED gaming monitor. It's normally $1199.99, but today you can get it for $999.99. This monitor also uses a Samsung quantum dot OLED panel, but with a gentle 1700R curve (the Samsung G80SD is flat). Dell also backs their monitor up with a generous 3 year warranty that includes burn-in protection. If you're looking for the best gaming monitor for 2024, this should definitely also be on your short list.
