AU Deals: 25 Deck-Verified Freebies, BLOPS 6 Drops 46%, Fancy DualSense Discounts, and More!

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of scoring a great gaming deal, and this week’s discounts are packed with legendary titles at jaw-dropping prices. Whether you’re into stealthy espionage, open-world adventures, or fast-paced sports action, there’s something here for every Patient One among you.

This Day in Gaming 🎂

In retro news, I'm getting my Cyndaquil to light a 16-candle cake for Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver, two Pokéventures I played until my DS stylus was a nub. These enhanced remakes of 1999’s Pokémon Gold & Silver did more than just revisit a beloved world—they redefined it. With a striking visual overhaul, mechanical refinements, and an incredible breadth of content, these games still stand tall as the (heart)gold standard of remakes.

One of the most celebrated features was the return of Pokémon following their trainers (a mechanic first introduced in Pokémon Yellow but vastly expanded here). No longer limited to Pikachu, every Pokémon in your 'Dex could now walk alongside you. A more ambitious addition was the Pokéwalker, a pedometer-like accessory that allowed players to transfer a Pokémon from their game and walk with it in real life, creating an early version of the real-world interaction later seen in Pokémon GO.

Exciting Bargains for Xbox

On Xbox Series X, Red Dead Redemption 2 rides in at an absurdly low A$24. Bizarre trivia: Rockstar put so much detail into the game that horses even have dynamic testicle physics (seriously). If sci-fi heists are more your style, Star Wars Outlaws is slashed to A$56.

Pure Scores for PlayStation

For PlayStation 5, Tales of Arise is an absolute bargain at A$34 and I always dug how the game’s mascot, Hootle, changes its appearance based on the owl collectibles you find. Meanwhile, Resident Evil Village (A$39) lets you explore a terrifying world inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula and actual European folklore.
